The objectives and mandate

SORDA addresses the root causes of poverty and suffering through employment generation, capacity building, environment protection, advocacy and partnership in order that vulnerable, disadvantaged and marginalized people are empowered to participate effectively in achieving livelihood security and realizing their rights to live with dignity and self-respect

SORDA has two types of management structure in the organization that constitute and influence organizational functions and other dynamics in variety of ways, these are:

  • the Board of directors (BOD) and (i) the executive organ or management The Board of directors consists of seven members and they are the highest governing body of the organization, which formulates the policies and procedures and oversees the overall activities based on the policies, procedures and mandate of the organization. The Board of directors consists of seven persons. The BOD meets twice a year to discuss issues related to performance of organization and programs activities and sets strategic direction in consultation with the executive organ or management team.

The role of executive director includes:

The executive organ is the management team and they are Executive Director, Program Coordinator and admin and finance officer.
